Passport processing can take 6-8 weeks. Make sure that you have enough time to apply/ renew before your travel date.

Most countries will not permit a traveler to enter their country unless the passport is set to expire at least six months after the final day of travel. Got it, but I have no idea what that means

e.g. If you plan to travel July 01, 2021 and your passport expires October 30, 2021, it is not within the 6 month validity rule. It would need to be valid January 31, 2022 or later.
