GENIE+ & LIGHTNING LANE
Lightning Lane (LL) is the line for guests who purchase Genie+ or Individual Selections to skip the regular lines for a ride/ attraction.
For those familiar with Fast Pass, The Fast Pass Lines have been renamed to Lightning Lane.
Lightning Lane is what Genie+ attractions and Individual Attractions will use for faster access than standby lines.
Disney has officially retired Fast Passes. It is no more.
No. In order to use Lightning Lane, you must purchase Genie+ for most attractions and/ or Individual Attractions.
Genie+ The lowest prices begin at $15 but will vary up to $22 per person, per day depending on the day. Genie+ can only be purchased on the day of your visit, and Disney recommends checking the My Disney Experience app for the current pricing..
Individual Attraction purchases vary by date but will range from $7 – $15 per ride.
For Example: If you have a family of four and want to use Genie+ for one day at Magic Kingdom, it will cost $60.
Lets also say that you decide you and your family want to pay to use Lightning Lane for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the price that day is $10. You would pay $40 to access the Individual Lightning Lane for 7DMT.
No, regular standby lines are still available for all guests. One of the features with Genie ( the complimentary service, not to be confused with Genie+) is that it will show you the current wait times and forecasted wait times for the day.
You do not need to pay to ride attractions, It is simply an option.
Read carefully: The service of Genie+ will never sell out, however Disney specifically states that “rides are subject to availability”. This means that one or more attraction(s) can sell out of time slots. Let’s say you decide to visit Animal Kingdom at 5:30pm and it closes at 8pm, if you purchase Genie+, you will more than likely just wasted $15.
If you are arriving at a park later in the day/afternoon/ evening, look at availability in your Tip Board before you purchase Genie+. Everything is subject to availability.
For Individual Attractions, once the pay-per-ride times slots are sold out, you will not be able to purchase as it will not give you the option to do so.
No. Lightning Lane is not available to advance reserving. Everybody starts fresh each day.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort you can make your first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection at 7am.
Individual Lightning Lane Selections is at 7am unless you are not staying at a Disney Resort and then it will be when the officially park opens.
Please Note, you can purchase Genie+ after midnight, the day of your visit but you will not be able to book until 7am. If you want to purchase before 7am, that can help you save time when selecting your fist ride.
Yes & No
If you are 100% sure you want to use Genie+ for every day you visit a theme park, you can buy in advance when you book your vacation package with me.
If you only want to use Genie+ on select days, you will purchase individually through the app in MyDisneyExperience under ‘Tip Board’ or ‘My Genie Day’ once your reservation is linked to your account and theme park reservations are made.
Individual Attractions cannot be purchased in advance.
Once you make your Theme Park Reservations, you can purchase Genie+ app for select days in the app and if you want to use Genie+ on all of your days, I can add it to your reservation.
Individual Attractions cannot be purchased in advance.
No, Genie+ is nonrefundable.
You will need to go to Guest Services at the front of each park or the blue ‘Guest Experience Team’ podiums if they are set up that day to handle any concerns you have about your Genie+ services. Travel Agents cannot assist with Genie+ or Individual Attraction technical issues.
No.
Individual Attraction purchases are non-refundable and cannot be modified to a different time or attraction once purchased. You will need to go to Guest Services if there is an issue.
Nope!
You can purchase Individual Attractions without Genie+. You will still purchase them in Genie under ‘My Tip Board’. You are allowed two rides per day with Individual Attractions
Trick Question
You can only reserve one ride at a time. When you arrive at your scheduled arrival window, your MagicBand, MagileMobile or Key to the World card will be scanned at the entrance to Lightning Lane. As soon as you get scanned, you can immediately make your next Genie+ reservation.
You can however, book another ride after 2 hours even if you have not used your first Genie+ LL reservation.
You are allowed two rides per day with Individual Attraction purchases. You can purchase both at the same time but make sure you allow time in between them.
If you book Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at 11:30pm and Frozen Ever After at 12pm you will not make it to Frozen and will miss your window of arrival therefore, wasting money.
Which leads to my next question…
You have one (1) hour to arrive for your Lightning Lane attraction. If you selected an arrival time at 3:20pm, you will have until 4:20pm to show. If you do not show up within your allotted time, your ride is forfeited and you can not rebook that particular ride with Genie+. You can still do standby line.
You can show up 5 minutes (not 6 minutes) early and 5 minutes late (again, not 6)
Genie+: yes., as long as there is availability, you can modify your return times.
Individual Attractions: no.
If you know you are not going to make it to your booked Genie+ arrival window, you can cancel and change your reservation but you must do it before your arrival window ends otherwise you forfeit that ride experience.
Individual Attraction purchases are nonrefundable and cannot be modified once purchased. Choose you Individual Attraction times wisely.
No. you can only book each ride/ attraction once per day. You are however, able to use the standby line as many times as you like.
ILL Attractions can be purchased first thing in the morning for which parks you will be visiting that day. You are allowed two ILL per day but cannot book the same ride twice.
For Genie+ attractions, you can start making return times once you are scanned into your second park.
You can purchase Genie+ at anytime through out your day. But be advised this does not mean you will have availability. to all attractions. Some rides have sold out within the first hour of park opening. If you arrive at a park that will be closing soon, there may not any time slots left. You can see what times are available before you purchase Genie+. Attractions are always subject to availability.
If a ride you have a reservation for is down for some reason during your time to ride it, like due to weather or technical issues, you won’t lose your reservation. Instead, you’ll be able to make a reservation for another ride. You could also opt to use that reservation for a different qualifying ride (which will be a modified list of the 45 rides included with Genie+).
Disney has said that they will NOT refund any Individual Attraction Selections, but if this happens to you, ask a nearby Cast Member or Guest Relations team about what your options are.
Only if you reserve each ride. You must book your ridesin the app before showing up to enter Lightning Lane. You must arrive during that window you reserved…for EACH attraction. Genie+ does give you all access to any attraction at any time. They must be booked one at a time.
No. You can only arrive for Lightning Lane attractions at your designated time that you purchased. For example, if you are in the regular standby line for Space Mountain at 10:30am and decide you to use the Lightning Lane, you need to look at the return times available before confirming your purchase. Purchasing Genie+ or ILL ride does not give you immediate access to a ride although there may be a return time with immediate availability.
Though Disney states that with Genie+ in My Disney Experience, guests cannot book more than one Lightning Lane selection at a time, there is a way to “stack” multiple selections around the same time(subject to availability, of course).
Disney Resort guests with Genie+ may book their first attraction starting at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their visit. In the Tip Board section of My Disney Experience, it will suggest the next available window open for each attraction. You can only book one Lightning Lane selection at a time.
No matter what window you select for an attraction’s Lightning Lane, you will be able to book another Lightning Lane selection after using the first or after the window expires, 2 hours after park open, or 2 hours after booking a selection
The 2 hr (120 minute rule) is if your first booked ride is more then 2 hours away.
If you want to book an additional Genie+ Lightning Lane selection while you wait for that later return time to arrive, you’ll be able to do so 2 hours AFTER you made that initial selection.
For example: If you book something for a 7pm arrival time, you can book something else for around 4pm. You just have to book the later one first.
You can book a ride every 2 hours. You can’t book more than one ride at the same time.
You can have a Genie+ reservation AND have an Individual Attraction at the same time because they are two separate things.

Top Things to Know About DAS
- DAS is intended for Guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability.
- DAS does not provide immediate access to experiences, but rather allows Guests to request a return time for a specific experience that is comparable to the current standby wait. This allows the Guest using DAS to enjoy other experiences in the park instead of physically waiting in the standby line.
- The Guest who is requesting to use DAS must be present during registration (in person or live video call) and when redeeming a DAS return time at Walt Disney World theme parks. The Guest using DAS doesn’t need to be present when a return time is requested at an attraction or any Guest Relations location.
- Once registered, DAS is valid for up to 60 days.
- Two exciting new features have been added to the DAS program: (1) the opportunity to pre-register via live video call and use DAS Advance pre-arrival planning and (2) a convenient way to receive DAS return times through the My Disney Experience app.
Travel Agents cannot add DAS to a guests account. That is at the discretion of a Disney Cast Member at Guest Relations when you arrive or through Video Chat for pre-registration.
When you book an Individual Lightning Lane Attractions, that does give you access immediately. You are booking a time to arrive. That time of arrival window is on the screen before you confirm your purchase.
